Description

This large, single level, riverside cabin offers plenty of room for family groups or as many as three couples to spread out. The master bedroom suite includes a queen bed, bathroom and sitting area that has a hide a bed and a small TV with built-in DVD player. The other two bedrooms have comfortable California king beds. The bedroom “wing” of the house also includes a newly remodeled bathroom with new tub and shower, vanity and improved lighting and a small utility room with washer and dryer.


The kitchen/dining area, with windows overlooking the Wallowa River, has a large table as well as a long counter area with bar stools. Included are a new stove, dishwasher, microwave, sink and countertops. The kitchen opens to a large patio that is perfect for your outdoor dining and relaxation with a table, chairs and gas barbeque. It is also a great place to relax with a book and with sounds of the river in the background.


The rustic living room, which has plenty of seating and a gas insert in the river stone fireplace, was the original cabin. When installing ceiling lights as part of the recent remodel, the contractor discovered that the south wall is made of thick, solid logs. Framed photos show the original cabin before there were other structures in the area. An old photo of the original hand-carved mantle is displayed but you can take your own photo of the carved greeting “WA-NE-KA”. A huge flat screen TV on the living room wall is connected to cable TV and a Blu-ray player. If needed, the sofa includes a queen hide a bed.


Outside amenities include tall fir and pine trees, views of the river and mountains and a large lawn area with perimeter fences for safety and privacy. There is also a two-car garage for overnight secure parking. This location provides easy access to all of the activities at the south end of Wallowa Lake. ALL CABINS ARE NON SMOKING--$500 FINE IF WE DETECT SMOKING.

The Basics:
*  STARTER KIT provides paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and dish detergent.
*  Spices, oils, condiments, etc., are NOT included.
*  Kitchens are fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses, etc.  
*  Linens and towels are provided, but not all places provide beach towels.  
*  All rentals have either a propane or charcoal grill.  Charcoal is not provided.
*  If your home has a wood stove/fireplace, firewood and matches are provided.  

Security Requirements:
*  CSA - Damage insurance is available to purchase for your vacation.
*  CSA - Travel Insurance is available to purchase and covers many of life's incidentals.   
*  Credit cards on file will be charged for excessive wear and tear on our homes.

Forms of Payment:

*  Checks:  personal, cashier's or money orders
*  Checks payable to WLVR and mailed to PO Box 296, Enterprise, OR 97828, received 15 days prior to arrival.

Additional Notes:  
*  Review our cancelation policy 
*  Balance is due 2 weeks prior to arrival.  Card on file will be charged unless other arrangements have been made.
*  Not all of our homes are pet friendly.  Please review our pet friendly homes.  Please don't just assume you can bring your pet to all of our homes.  Sneaking pets in will incur heavy fines.  

Cancelation Policy:  
*  If you have purchased CSA Travel Insurance, you may be covered for all of life's hiccups before your trip, during your trip, and even up to 6 months after your trip.  Check into this as it could help with your trip.  However, if you didn't purchase it, then.......
*  If you have given us more than 30 days notice before your arrival, then we will give you your deposit back minus a $50 cancelation fee.
* If you cancel within the 30 days of your arrival and we are able to rerent the home out for the same number of days as you had, then a full refund minus a $50 cancelation fee.

*  If your home sits empty, then we retain your deposit.

*  If you have to cancel for a medical issue, or a family emergency, we will evaluate the issue on a case by case basis and may allow you to keep your money on file for a future stay in the same cabin.

My comments related to Cabin #49. It is a spectacular property--close to the river; a beautiful patio/deck upon which to relax and hear the river and view the mountains. We felt fortunate to be in such a beautiful setting. There were two items that may be helpful. They are not intended in any sense to be critical. We found the technical connection between TV and DVD player to be a bit complex and at times inoperable. It may have been our lack of technical skill, but we have never encountered that problem before. A set of instructions would have been helpful. The provision of the small bars of soap (I believe 3 per bathroom) was minimal. We elected to purchase a regular bar for each and it was sufficient. We only had 3 garbage sacks for the week and we went through them rapidly. We did have to request addition toilet paper and it was promptly delivered--so no problem. We commend you for your efficiency, your hospitable nature, your patience when we ask questions that may seem naive to you. You are very good to work with.

Properties located at the resort side of Wallowa Lake will be within easy walking distance of shops, activities, restaurants. The south side is more of the touristy side of Wallowa Lake. Enjoy the deer, be within quick walking distance to the Wallowa Lake Trailhead, enjoy the restaurants and shopping at Wallowa Lake easily from these south side homes.
