This film chronicles the partnership between Lung On and Ing Hay. The museum, a 140-year-old structure that was owned by these two men, includes a vast collection of artifacts including items from Doc Hay's pharmacy and Lung On's mercantile. Additionally, local artist Steve Arment will discuss a painting in his collection by Lia Yong, a nineteenth century Chinese immigrant artist and photographer.

School Days involves as many old-time skills as can be gleaned from volunteers. Annual favorites include blacksmithing, soap-making, silversmithing. Musicians play old-time music throughout the day. Besides the fold artist demonstrations, the Pie Social, a fund raising tradition from days of old, and the Dutch oven lunch provide plenty of food. Now in it's 29th year, you will enjoy a course that is breathtaking in its scenic beauty. You can choose to run either a 5K or 10K that is mostly downhill as it follows the Lostine River into the small town of Lostine, or a flat 1 mile out-and-back. The main sponsor of the Lostine River Run is the Rotary Club of Wallowa County. Rotary proceeds benefit the Memorial Scholarship Funds.

What sets Summer Fishtrap apart from other writing retreats is our remote mountain lake setting, a focus on a provocative theme related to living and writing in the west, and on the generation of new writing. Participants come away with new skills, new beginnings, and a renewed sense of their own creative potential. Many people report having the best group writing experience of their lives at Summer Fishtrap. Summer Fishtrap is a week-long gathering of writers held at Wallowa Lake each July. Aspiring and established writers spend time together in a week of writing workshops, panel discussions, evening readings and even find time to relax, write, hike, and fish.

Ours is a week-long, small, inexpensive and family oriented music workshop focused on traditional string instruments, begun in 2005. There is a country family dance on Thursday nights for which the workshop participants provide the music.
